Far away from the tainted town

Post by Atehequa » August 13th, 2011, 9:34 am

Crows peck at the damp ground
The mountain air is thick with fog
Barely hearing the toad’s chirping
Above the trill of a gray treefrog
It’s good to be in a wild green place
Far away from the tainted town
I’d rather share songs with a katydid
Than to shout or be shouted down

Demanding obedience instead of respect
Something I just could not freely give
If they change one’s way of thinking
Then they can tell one how to live
Better to howl along with the pack
Then bleating with someone’s flock
Roaming beyond fenced-in pastures
Never waking to the crowing cock

be wild and free.......give me the church of the forest any day.........
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
