collective hysterical switchboard

Post by saw » July 19th, 2012, 7:03 am

it ain't about having what it takes
it's about not wanting to do it
you self absorbed angus
I can be as tough as a cheap steak
when I embrace the mission
and when I'm hungry enough
i'll eat the damn thing too, my problem
is plugging into the collective hysterical switchboard,
I always seem to cause short circuits,
forever creating shooting sparks
of a deviant nature that rain down
like multi colored anvils for all on lookers
that need me to conform to the accepted
ways of doing things on this planet, my soul
was snatched by a human baby body I think,
so now all I can do is pretend to be normal
so as not to offend, but I suspect they all know
that I'm an imposter.....a mistaken identity
I try to blend it with my clever small talk
sure is hot out there today, we could sure use
some rain, damn taxes are killing me
I hope my man gets elected
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

it's a madhouse. most of the time, i feel like i'm undercover - and not doing a particularly good job at it. i like the political turn at the end - adds a bit of timely provocation.

Yes I liked that too, also the title is poem in itself
the zeitgeist in a nutshell
in the meantime .
I would like to take a can opener to my skull, take a peak inside and find those crossed wires.

“A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.” —Angus McDonalds©
