time
(a momentary muse)

something absurd... born of some static mind,
truthfully abstract, and yet, quite acutely sublime,
solely lacking in substance, while devoid of design,
and so faithfully invariable, yet, continually redefined~

the mind gives way to what cannot be grasped,
gives rise to a future... or implication to some past,
creating a world, around illusion, that can never last,
as the noticing of a moment, when the moment is cast~

who needs this time-sensitive rush of activity,
every part of that maze still constitutes captivity,
I like my current of events without the virtual reality,
you can keep your calendars, sundials... and formality~

go ahead, contemplate it, calculate its expense,
complicate the simple life, until it makes no sense,
measure it, but treasure it...on your side of the fence,
or celebrate it repeatedly, if you so enjoy the past tense~

don't stop counting it, we encourage the chase,
while the ticks of reality keep the exact same pace,
fractionally expressed of course, (to defend the case),
but there can be no winner declared, in a perpetual race~

and in the end... everything still fades in its wake,
every world will collide, regardless of whose mistake,
memories are erased and impressions lose their stake,
as time portrays the enemy, (although this enemy is fake)~

has this creature evolved... without being attuned,
some say it dissolves... and others say it is consumed,
but as theories exist, reality itself... is still only presumed,
leaving any observation of time, consequently... opportune~

time is a momentary muse, a simple little delusion,
just a measuring of motion, to eliminate any confusion,
whatever it may be, it won't impinge upon my conclusion,
time is on my side these days, but not by means of intrusion~

Fine but deep poem. Got the grey matter working. And why not? 8)
