don't have no mercy

Post by revolutionrabbit » November 6th, 2013, 3:53 pm

Just listened to a dead song
Grateful Dead of course
it was, "death don't have no mercy"
it goes death don't have no mercy in this land
I don't recall ever hearing this song before
I guess I was not a real Dead head
But I remember going to that Dead show
with you on new year's eve in frisco
you were so young and beautiful on that night
I saw the universe's new eternities eve
in your big round blue eyes then
I saw the never ending love in them
that I saw reflected back to me
I saw the future there too
walking hand in hand in Golden Gate park
where all the flower children had gathered back when
we were so close when we walked through time
feeling all the love and peace that had been felt
in moments of golden bliss and this was this
and all we knew was that we were passing through
together, and that was all there was
and the Grateful Dead sung in the air around us
and the sunlight filtered through the trees
golden shed down on us that grateful smile
we held on for dear life for awhile
and they sung, death don't have no mercy in this land
and I will always be holding your hand in another land

Without sounding old and past my sell by date, this is one heck of a good love poem, going into a good time a better time than now appears. 8)

fine poem of love and remembrance through the eyes of music,,,,and songs are the same as carbon dating.....i remember some beautiful girls running around that park back around 1982 when I was exploring the US in my VW......and listening to Hot Tuna there....for Free !
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
