Beyond the Shadows

[saw]

some men are born into this world out of step
preordained to sit on the draping fringe
they glide along the circumference,
the circle of breath

peering in with calloused orbs
they see it all....too painfully
womb to tomb, they echo
perennial voices, melted elders

they stand on the very tops of the clouds
shoulder to shoulder
chronological order
chorus whisperers carrying the tune of a critical song

placed here on earth with an unsolicited onus
inside their heads.....
neon acid streams through their veins,
their blood glows embers of truth

far too hot for a hearth of mere brick,
they do their very best to blend in
not from any weakness or fear
but from their profound love of humanity

yes because above all, they are great lovers
and if one is astute enough
to pierce their cloak of humility
they will happily leave the shadows

join you for cosmic communion
no I'm talkin' about swallowing
some kind of blood stained eucharist,
I'm talking about empathy

thinking about Dino today
but I do that often.....
I like to read his words
so many deeply emotional offerings
the man had tough life
i heard so many stories
we got to know each other
initially remotely
which built a strong bond
and then in person when he moved
back to Baltimore
he had the habit
of being a genius
