Equinox! ... JAM it!

Post by Doreen Peri » March 20th, 2017, 2:05 am

And so its the equinox again,
each day's light equal to the dark
the stark remembrance of the chill
filling our minds with thank god the ice is gone
but hey, I'm not here to try to sing my own song
because if I did it would be extremely unworthy.
Please sing yours instead!

It's the EQUINOX,
something we've looked forward to for a long time.
So write about it until
you find yourself satisfied.

All things equal and everything ...
Your turn.

the yinyang likes
the dark/light balance,
twelve of this, twelve of that.
It's been a longer than usual winter,
but the sun came out today, and don't
think it doesn't make a difference in
the larger picture.

spring lies dormant
under the recent snows
dropped here by a petulant winter
unwilling to leave the stage
arctic winds
still the norm
but oh, the sun
that's a september sun
don't we know it
sing the chickadees
drum the woodpeckers
saw an otter last week
running across the ice
towards open water
saw turkeys
practicing their dance
oh yeah
spring's coming
so suck it up, Winter

feel like a fortunate pirate
who makes home port
with untold treasure
after a perilous voyage
every spring since I turned 70
fells like a gift more precious
than pirate gold

daylight savings time
is year-light savings time
I spring forward in time
fall back to younger more healthy days
how sweet it is
but truth be told spring started here last month
and we ain't long to see hot dam texas summer
how I hate to see that burning sun come up
love to see it set
to the evening pass into dark
on blue side of the evening

out of synch weather
I will always be a stranger to the weather here

did i jam it
did i did it
hope so cause times like these i need duh jam
the most

Equinox Spring
Growing flowers pop out of the ground
Newborn flags of leaves are found
Daffodils, hyacinths,crocus,
Green is once again the focus...

Life crawls out from behind the rocks
We commence to set forward clocks
The promise of renewal is everywhere
You may feel it in the warmth of the air...

We had a mild winter in the Tennessee Valley,
Snow & ice made themselves scarce except in the hills,
Thrift again grows to signal end to winter chills
Life chirps from the the treetops around here
Once again comes a special time of year... :)

it aint the heat
its the humidity
it aint the equinox
its the climate
I been jamming but enough of that, don't want to dwell on the bad times once they're past
that kind of thinking gets me nowhere fast
the past will pass one way or another
and the future keeps slipping into the past
so I celebrate a fleeting spring in south central texas

but I might as well enjoy it
riding around in my automobile
with all the windows down
its'ah thrill that will getcha

equality in all things
day for night
7 to seven

all a state of mind

Soon, bare arms
to feel the warmth of sun,
bare soles to walk the shore.

gray, Gray, GRAY GRAY,
damn near never-ending here.
Gotta be stoic to live in this climate,
gotta dig theater and musty library stacks,
long-long indoor outta the sogged-out sog,
let winds off the sound blow mold spores
off your brain, stick your head outta the
window once in awhile.

Gray gray cold cold wet wet blah blah,
traffic jams and rut rut ruts everywhere,
but when that first knife of sunlight cuts
through gray you can see more blue, and
even fleeting, gasping approximations of
yellow-orange-ish, but don't turn your head
for a second or you'll miss it.

Spring will be late again like usual.

a bit of sun
cool persists...persists....persists....
21....22....23...
I dunno
anything above 30's
alright by me
so much for the weather forecast
tom waits had it right with his
emotional weather forecast
on " nighthawks at the diner"

march & december
heavy cyclic transits & double bind learned recipe
historic anguish mixing with happy & not so happy endings and begginings
April of easiness winking at the horizon?

previous days´s always new stupor
& now logistic & strategy for the march
where?
when?
with whom?
small group or small group following a column?
who will bring the mate? & the water?
midday and the plaza is starting to sound ... again!

angst & euphoria
numbers & territory
we can finally rest
(a bit)
on our smiles
for some days

time to rebound
shake off he old skin
do the molten dance of rebirth
the equinox says it is so

lest we forget to change our clocks
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
