aren't we always?
at litkicks it was
like a machine gun
rapido.......
we wait
we long
for an answer
out there in the
distance
like the clap of
distant thunder

Sad, how that plug was pulled. But I wasn't the one dealing with headaches of running a site, so I should just be grateful that I got a brief chance to run that wild charge through my circuits. Thank god for this place though (thank Doreen). Many fond LK memories, some not-so-fond, always raw, vital energy ... Here's how I described it when I wrote that story of going to meet LKers ... The spirit lives on here, tho' yes, less rapido...
... I stumbled onto a crazy poet place, where poems twisted around themselves in long, tangled strings, a place where poets sing together and punch each other in the head, bathe in radiance, swim muddy rivers of rage and roam all over back canyons of mind. Sometimes they argue long threads about the nature of "reality," but they always return to paint new rivers and ask why horns stopped blowing on records, because the jazz used to be crazy, jagged streams of cool Dada fury coming off blown fronts. The place is one hell of a bash, like a long oceanic energy wave finally breaking in wild surf.
I know what you mean.

Litkicks was an American Treasure
I would like to think he has not been demolished like some old forlorn buildin
somewhere on a server I would like to think it persists
looking back with 20/20 I see now that
my best times there were some of my worst times
I am a better man because of that flame board
I was so much younger then

I sure hope studio eight outlives me
I don't want ever to mourn another website
thanks doreen

No websites last forever. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep this one going. It costs money and it takes time and also expertise I don't have. The software is WAY out of date.

I'm waiting for Facebook to close. It's a time hog and everybody just wants to argue. :D

But yeah, that's why we post, for interaction with other people. If people don't reply to what we post, what's the point? It's interactive media.

I need to buy a new lawnmower. Sorry, random thought. Hope my tax refund gets here before the grass gets up to my knees.

What a sweet offer, Mark.... maybe ...

Bad night tonight... my housemate's dog got out somehow, ran into the street and got hit by a car, then she ran away wounded. We've been searching the neighborhood with flashlights but we can't find her. Sad night. :(

That is sad, Doreen. I've had to deal with a favorite dog escaping and being hit on the road near my house, and that is one of the hardest things for any human to do it seems.

My housemate, Lauren, is extremely upset. Her dog, Tula, means the world to her. I don't know where else to look in the dark. We've combed the neighborhood .... even in daylight, it would be overwhelming.

Sorry you also had a dog who was hit by a car, Mark Naz .... What happened? Did you ever find him?

I've never experienced this before. I had a cat who was sick and left the house once upon a time and never came back. I've always been a cat owner. Alicia and I put out flyers on the neighbors doors and on signs at street corners, but he just never came back. It wasn't easy but we didn't take flashlights to search for him like we're searching for Tula tonight.

Hey, sorry, Mark Wireman, for interrupting your "waiting for a reply" thread..... At least I'm replying. Doing the best I can.

I really should start writing again. I remember saying to my ex-husband, "I'm doing the best I can" and I was shocked when he answered, "No you're not." Hahahah...There's a poem in there somewhere.

I was still living at my parents' house to save money, sophomore year in college, long time ago. I think it was dad who found her, and she was pretty seriously injured, there really was no way to save her. Very sad time. I hope it turns out better for your housemate.
