dancing in the rain of petro-dollars

like beating a dead horse
with another dead horse's eyeball
of course
the powers that should not be
should have never been
war is the crutch
the cross is the double
more bombs is religion
and politics, is heroin
only a miracle as powerful
as big as a Van Gogh sunflower
can turn this around now
poetry the last stand
of critical thought
put into analogy
with art in mind
we don't need no trumpet
we don't need no holy book
full of holes
we need a living encyclopedia
with all the cycles intact
we could use a Picasso Kerouac
