The Age of Classics eroded
to sedimentary, metamorphic
sound laid down, compressed,
uplifted, washed out again, a
swollen river, bloom blend of
twenty billion souls humming
in their cosmic echo chamber.

The age of classics, like Plato's cave, which still seems classic.

The classics are still classics alright; it's just unlikely that they will be repeated, or at least so singularly heard and recognized as they once were above the din-- with the world's population doubling in less than 50 years. Everything is an echo of something else, or echo of echo(es).

Good allegory by Plato btw. Can we drag ourselves out of the Cave?
