A Touch of New Orleans

Post by the mingo » May 3rd, 2017, 9:27 pm

- jazz is God with a big nose -
I listen as I watch
the women next door
mother & daughters
going back & forth
to their camp by the river
getting it ready for summer
they ride in their cars forth & back
these girls hardly ever walk anywhere
they gonna forget
what their legs are for
and if this is where
I wanted to go with this
it's a surprise to me -
- jazz is God and
the guy on the trumpet
is making it sound Mexican
the guy on the piano
is all Chicago but the drummer
is a touch of New Orleans
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

 cool! :D

I was told today that the pólice came twice to the building in the last four days because of a girl who put the music very loud for hours, it seems ten floors of distance make you live in another world, at least this time...

the random YouTube bordered somehow New Orleans, I discovered (and enjoyed!) this:

gracias for the poem, mingo!

that's the wonderful thing about jazz...
it's affinity for poetry lies between the ears
while strands of notes translate into
any one thing or more we need at that moment

solid, el mingo... solid!

I dunno about the big nose thing-
But this poem is pretty awesome
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
