the war that was suppose to end all war

The so called great war
was supposed to be the end of all wars
not really, that war was based on child abuse
that is how they got a lot of young men
to line up in front of air cooled machine guns
and go over the top when they blew a whistle
and run straight into the arms of death
bullets raining at them, trench war
you knew if this time when you went over the top
if you did not get killed, the next time you would
or be disfigured, what was really going through
their minds, when their officers ordered them
to run straight into machine gun fire

not much has changed since the great war
the elite have only figured out bigger and better
ways to kill people, and the child abuse
in the dumb down schools still goes on
so they have more cannon fodder
except now the enemy is us

is there any chance for humanity
once there were minds that could
read the philosophers, maybe that is no relief
but maybe when you went over the top
you could think about Schopenhauer

" after your death you will be what you were
before you were born"

what does the young cannon fodder think about now
I always think of the last scene in All Quiet on
the Western Front, reaching for that butterfly

The other thing that really got built up to nearly untouchable, impenetrable sacred levels in that "war to end all wars" (riiight) was the religion of militarism itself. A self-contained loop.

Basically the foreign wars will keep rolling on as long as we keep signing up to fight them.

And btw, it's still a good idea for me to kind of keep these p.o.v. more or less to myself when I travel inland to the "red states"- unpopular stuff. And let's face it- we do need some level of military for national defense. (We just don't need to have a military that's constantly on the international OFFENSIVE- one which costs about a thousand million times more than any other on earth.)
