the surrealists started the ball rolling
and the beat writers and poets kept it rolling
the surrealists were showing us the future
through revealing images of the collective
unconscious, we are in that future now
many possible versions there of

you are walking into a Dali painting
you see the marvelous surrealist object
in the distance on the melting horizon
and walk out of a Miro, you walk
into a liquid ball, Max Ernst
appears on the other side
and behind him his great paintings appear

if you see one of the paintings
or two, the Ubu Imperator
looks like the orange man president
the Elephant Celebes just as relevant today

keep in mind that the surrealists
came into being between two world wars
there was no television and no computers
art and poetry were the tell all vision
the artists and poets were the vision makers
and Picasso painted the world as he saw it

I think about this a lot....how truly original so many were with little ability to share concepts over miles and miles, or be influenced... when sharing information on a widespread basis wasn't an easy thing to do...so much had to come from the individual minds

Fire or it's aftermath seems to be a recurring theme...
