as she walked past him
out of the store

gone from view
trees

bushes

shopping done

love sighting
no more fun.

...the doe-eyed mother behind a shopping cart at Hannaford
...the fading beauty in faux fur at the liquor store
...the buxom tenant of the apartment adjacent the video rental outlet
...the chubby redhead who gave me a shy smile at the music festival

to say nothing of the recurring theme of our town librarian, the visiting nurse down the road, or the two charming older ladies I occasionally see out walking their dogs by the lake
