childhood memories

Post by cmoore » June 10th, 2017, 4:01 pm

I'm thinking about where I came in
I always thought my first memory
was in the back of my parents car
crossing the desert in the summer
in California at the age of three
but in way in the back of my mind
I have vague images of being in
my grandmother's house
in Wisconsin being in the attic
and looking through a chest
of stored things, it seems that my
memory is like that old chest
and the things in it are the memories
of my grandmother, I don't know
what was in there, old pictures
maybe a raggedy Ann doll

I would need hypnosis to dredge
those memories to the surface
like if I could see my grandmother
when she was a little girl
and what were her first memories

I don't know if these memories
of my grandmother's attic are real
but she was a mystery to me

.....the memories are like mists now, ungraspable and vague as time goes by......

I think it was 4 at the earliest, nothing too clear before that except mom providing grape juice fuel in the kitchen, vaguely remember that, but when the earthquake hit at about that time, different thing altogether. I was riding the play horse with springs front and back and riding it hard, so hard that when the shaking started I thought I might have caused it..
