the sun, the moon, the stars and ivy

Post by saw » September 25th, 2022, 10:17 am

long sleeve shirt
long pants
compression stockings
it's a war
in the peaceful garden

gentle breeze
perfect temps
but oh those mosquitos
don't know when to quit
and neither does my edema
so I don the battle gear
and relax

a metal sculpture stares at me
from the fence with an amused look
a squirrel darts up the steps
to the deck, stopping halfway up
to get a read on me......satisfied
I am no threat, leaps into the maple
and disappears as an old man
reaches for his pen, takes a drink
of seltzer, scribbles some nonsense
and christens it a poem

too cold & wet to be sitting outdoors today - rendering unto caesar instead, paying mom's rent & medication management... so thanks for the imagery! Tell that squirrel that NH sez howdy

In Maryland it's been pretty nice.....comfortable days and fire pit weather in the evening.....and the squirrels never quit....they're always around, running down the power lines like the Great Wallenda's

yeah judih, the firepit with friends in the evening is the equivalent to watching the sun rise
