I sank into my lounger
like the patio was jungle quicksand
had a buzz on life, high
in the rearranging garden, the breeze
was the first really cool one,
the plants know of course
they are about to shed
their summer clothes
like an experienced burlesque dancer
downtown at The Two O'clock Club
I can feel it, the change......
we are so in sync, like minded....
we share the same space, and I
so blend in so well, sitting quietly
watching them do their thing,
prepare for winter...
I too prepare,
I am in the winter
of my life.........
the winter
the winter
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
Re: the winter
sobering realization
few regrets for the past - though I wish I'd recognized Liz's overtures for what they were (or had the courage to respond)... could've signed on as a lab assistant for a tour of duty in Antarctica, but didn't... maybe shouldn't have married so hastily...
but these are all pebbles in the shoe of life... What was, was
my real regrets are for a future I'm unlikely to ever see... fusion power... boots on Mars... unraveling the nature of dark matter/energy... discovering if E.T. lives in the seas of Europa or Enceladus... reconciliation of quantum mechanics with relativity... *sigh*
