Re: Democracy, right
sung to the tune of leonard cohen democracy
Symbols of democracies
it is a grand old flag for sure
I pledge my alienage to it.
Sometimes I think the Mexican flag is more appealing
and Canada's flag you got to love
but sometimes the Israeli flag jacks my jaws
23 and me says I am 100% Ashkenazi
yes I used to be all messed up on drugs now I am all messed up on the Lord
Holyland is holy for sure
American democracy I would have to be a lot smarter than I am to deconstruct American democracy, maybe I should say "ok, you are right, it is dead, but no sense getting hysterical about it".
Sail on
it don't mean nothing
Sail on
thanks for the poem

Re: Democracy, right
Song to the tune of:
I suppose what I love most about your writing is your sense of time. Big time, rock time, earth time, cosmic
In short time all my friends are dying and the universe is expanding faster and faster
Biblical time is a bitch with an ice pick
and these are the good old days for a new generation of homo sapiens
Taciturn with Tacitus
a column ruined temple
Rome was not built in a day but died for 1400 years
Ah the young americans
I feel like one of Henry's Millers sick Jews.
I suppose the mad desert god is a real estate broker
I never feel like I have to live in one particular place over another and Big Sur is just as Holy as the Sea of Galilee.
Most of the writers I read were not big on politics, Kerouac, Miller, Salinger, but not Orwell. He keeps me in my toes, so much of what i see today he wrote about a long time ago. Not as long as Tacitus but still....
double think double minded and 2 plus 2 =5
so what if God is dead, let's not get hysterical, let us teach the children
I wanted to reread your reply again but it was gone and now I forgot what you wroteWe live for just these twenty years
Do we have to die for the fifty more?
All night

Re: Democracy, right
Thanks. If there's no solid ground under our feet and it's just moving and grinding and erupting rock, what do we have? Maybe at least a little well-placed humility? And we can finally kick the last ancient warmongers to the curb like that Star Trek thing said was possible, and these idiots of the 20th Century lingering into the 21st like Putin with their super weapons and delusions of control and takeover will finally fade out and yield the floor. Yeah right, someone(s) will take their place, right? War is the Economy, right?
