dem bones, dem dry bones

Post by joel » May 1st, 2007, 4:26 pm

A scalp and hair, perhaps, and ears and eyes—
a nose, a mouth and lips and cheeks— a fat
neck, spine and radiated ribcage— blood
and heart and lungs and stomach— liver, butt,
intestines, kidneys, diaphragm and bone
and cartilage— two biceps, triceps, limbs
that dangle elbow, forearm, wrist and hand;
two hips from which twin leggings condescend
with knobby knees, with calves on ankle whims
of metatarsal arch supports that own
their Decalogue in toes like fingers. What
are penis, scrotum, womb or menstrual flood
or semen, breast, developed nipple, that
so often these all samenesses disguise?

Like Ezekiel down in dem dry bones valley, visualizing the fullness of life's interconnected architecture...

spoken word material... i just read it aloud

do you have a microphone? I wish you'd record some of your stuff

we have a spoken word section on the new site in development where you will be able to upload audio files, btw

i'd love to hear this in your voice instead of mine

Thanks D, but I'm a little bit Amish at times...even if I had a microphone, I wouldn't know what to do with it. Sometime I'll have to track you down and learn. I turned in my last paper for school. I should be done now. Free. Sweet hallelujah!
