[Glorious Amok]

spun my own coccon
now i must grow wings in it
stay tuned for updates.

oh we use butterflies
at work
they draw blood
real good

lab slang
also the flag flap
remember traverse city
rainbow bumperstickers
flags flew
til they "knew" what it meant

then again at work
i speak spanish
the lab lady comes by and says
where's a butterfly? mariposa?
i play flap my butterfly wings
say here i am

but the latino guy from radiology says
latinos think butterfly means
queer
oh dear
so i look at him and wink


the latina lady from lab and me have a friendly joke
the butterfly play
lightens the day
little silk weavings
spinning a coccoon around it all
like you and me

wake up changed and new
