tasks pile up
but it don't do no good
when I take myself to task

mourning dove calls me
sun plays hide and seek
out my window still life with horses

in my head
still life with smiles
then life yanks me back

in my head
a hypertext scroll
life is its author

art swirls
through mind, through heart
body willing

fun leaves the building
silence, pause
worry takes its place

worry lines etched in my forehead
belie my carefree words
I'm the great pretender

missing mingo's ku's
something to clear my worries
he was/is good at that worry about him gone

snail unfurls
stretches antennae
leaves comfort zone

pause to consider
what makes this moment
appreciation

pause to wonder
what makes me write
gratitude

not a choice
heavy metal
dawn injection

south pole
penguins and explorers
wait for the sun

another milestone
a fast kiss
as we part

so whose voice?
whose music runs towards me
my younger self knows

even in quiet
mind plans tricks and follies
and there i go

here i go words again
there is no end
life is noisy

everything or nothing is ordinary
an extraordinary trick
