birds and raccoon
one hour of frolic
then out of sight

squirrels of gray
birds of rainbows
me

it's already steaming
even the cicadas are too hot
to make a little noise

look like a longing lover
to walk with my crooked stick
'long the shores of the oval lake

walking stick waits for me
the temperature is not friendly
the humidity is worse

code red they call it
not healthy for old folks like me

sapiens adjust

Aquavit isn't the water of life
it's alcohol splashed in oak barrels
but it can keep you alive

some nights
when the world has turned sour
drink up my friends

extract the essence
from it's voyage at sea
there is truth there

the green fairy lives

the blue sailor brings his Aquavit

we need color in our lives
be it from rainbow or spirit
splash it on like cologne
