it's my life
it's mine as long as i'm using it
there is no time like now
there's no one who'll do it if i don't
there's a poem to paint
and a play to conceive
there's a microphone unplugged
and an audience yet unborn

there's no other midwife but me
i'm the earth and the river
the sky and the underground steam

i am a molecule in the menu
a portion of the feast
i offer flesh and eternity

tis the season.
can't ignore the call.
been writing too much,
need to step outside for air,
outside of my mind
for the next breath.

it was a good year.
