long time passing

Image
down and out in Detroit 1979
driving Metropolitan cab #249
design class at Wayne State
all hope lost
yet somehow saved
the path leading nowhere
but through it all
long time passing
until redemption at last
from lost wanderings
urban prisons
self-imposed
morose contemplations
somehow a vision emerged
from unknown faith
and disillusionment
that kept my heart
for better days.

thank you, Jim!

I love the image and the poem.

I have no jammin' left in me right now and I'm late closing this one up. I just wanted to stop by and thank you for posting.

Also, I really loved the drawings you posted on the Visual Arts board. Could you please submit a few of those for the book?

Thanks much!

back in th jewel mine
moving on through
because of you an you an you
boogaloo
let it flow
siaters are all blessings
but my brother-in-law
wears chicago bears socks on packer football days
everybody's got a thing
sweet redemption one more time.
