some pics taken in the border and during my first day in La Paz. It´s a so colorful and active city, all the senses estimulated, not too much time to take photos or to think in the usual way... plus you are walking in planos inclinados all the time!...funny that the book I wanted to buy there was "To think Bolivia" ...

(more from different miradores, from the bus and Tiahuanaco later!)

hey!, this forum is nearer..., what happened??!!!!

the too-much-wired photo is one of my favourites too, Cecil!! :D no idea if they are only telephone wires, it´s quite probably that -like here- they are also electric wires!

I´ll post more photos in the following days, I´ll not go to work on monday and tuesday (strike again! and to a socialist government... wow! )

I can't help but ask...what did the air smell like in the pictures shown? It began with the desert, but then I wanted to know about the rest of the locales too.

Jacob: well, not to roses exactly! :) Depending on the places (gas station bathrooms -if you find some working- smell terrible in a conventional way! ), but La Paz smell as I remember it now (you know smells are at some point very subjective) is a mix of wool-palosanto-coca leaves- food-aromatic herbs-bodies & dust.
