Atacama
Atacama
photos from last summer. Accidentally we were one day and a half in San Pedro de Atacama and surroundings because we couldn´t cross the border directly from Arica to Argentina via paso de Jama -a buses huelga delay in Peru and not tickets available in Chile-. It was a lucky delay! (I wanted to visit San Pedro de Atacama but it wasn´t in the original places consensuados to visit) , see here some of the photos taken there:
1- views from the bus
2- city streets at pleno sol -I don´t remember well but I guess they were taken from middle morning to 3 pm-. The light is amazing!
3- The arqueologic museum, Catholic University property... There was an special muestra about the history of the minería in Chile (some objects reminded me the local "La Forestal"...) plus the usual objects and recorridos through the history of the pueblos originarios there, more or less 40 % of the objects in exposition had to do with chamanic alucinogic practices inspiring triturated sebi seeds (very delicate and sophisticated objects!) with very poor references... ah! no guides talking in Spanish that day... a lot of French, English and something like German ones talking very fast!

Re: Atacama
1) more photos from a caminata in the desert (from 5 pm to the sunset): dunes, a constant erosion show, cracking rocks sounding at the time sun was leaving, wind & lack of air at the same time and one of the biggest-like skies I´ve ever seen (they reminded me Patagonia and Cuyo ones!)
2) Hostel tree at early morning light
3) Salares near the border during the regreso

Re: Atacama
I did enjoy, Veronica, thank you.
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
Re: Atacama
gracias for seeing & great you enjoyed, dear mingo!!! (next chapter, some day I have time and wanted to stay in photobucket for an hour, I´ll post the Perú ones! )
Re: Atacama
Thx, I really liked the shot you took of the little church or house and the ones of the shadows cast on the ground and and the one you did of the grey hills rising in the distance.
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
Re: Atacama
ps - liked all the shots of the streets in the village too.

Re: Atacama
nice photos, 'V'... I, too, enjoyed many of them. The church is an interesting place, so bright and yet so alone.
