I was recommended this website by Wayne.
I have been writing poetry since I was about 12 or 13. I am inspired by some of my favorite poets, outer space, music, nature, and fractals. I also consider myself philosophical by nature, and my views end up in my work.
I also draw, but my drawing skill isn't as developed as my writing skill (probably because I take too many breaks). I make fractals and like to digitally manipulate pictures with programs like Gimp and Paint Shop Pro.
I was a part of a website called gotpoetry.com and writers (with more experience) gave me good suggestions and encouragement. Unfortunately, that site is no longer up and running, so it would be cool for my favorite poets to join this site (or the Facebook group dedicated to GP).
I have Asperger's Syndrome and my social skills are not very good, but writing is one way of dealing with my somewhat-eccentric personality and embracing it. I gain positivity from creative people and music.
Okay, that's about it.
