the Kung fu t.v. priest rages into the night.....3x the ambulance rolls towards oblivion...2x in the last year, hard headed fool not seeing the signs, or was it just to late to feel em.....maybe too much wishin and hopin at the bottom of it...ridin that road seeing it all slip away, little by little it starts to sink into that hard head of yours....no, no you gotta rage against the darkness of the mind, a clouded spot upon the cerebellum where there is no return....yet there is no return for any of us.....just acceptance that's the key .....face reality and the way thru suffering....it's inevitable in this journey to the other side......
Holy bat wings, Wireman ! Them's some dark Bourbon Street thoughts you entertaining - don't know for sure but I think it's the bike riding I do keeping strokes and heart attacks from my door - you watch, what'll happen is I'll be rundown by some idiot in a motor vehicle texting on his phone coming up behind me as I'm out riding and minding my own sweet business - fuck me if I can't take a joke, right ? and I'll be sayin' "Hello Jesus !" when I get to the other side of the valley of the shadow - until then, jam on !

I once drank saki on its homeground. The aftertaste didn't sit well with me, made me yearn for a good bourbon. I was surprised because of all the things I have learned from Japanese poets and their poems. I guess I was hoping everything would translate but it didn't.

I listened to a
Japanese woman reading
Japanese poetry in
Japanese at night

during a thunderstorm

when she finished
I got on my bike
for a ride
wide open
in the rain

waiting for the rain to stop
I remembered something
long ago forgotten
and remembered why
I had forgotten it

No coffee for a week ? I shudder. Didn't know such a thing was possible. Egads!

There goes the church bus blowing its horn crossing the bridge
and what the hell it's how it should be - gotta make fresh coffee -
coffee in the bottom of the first cup gone cold -

Why should we ever indulge ourselves in surprise at evil ?
nobody outruns the curse - even escaping from Egypt didn't solve the bigger problem -

It's Sunday - may be why I'm entertaining these notions.
