I think about you reading this and I think he is just as good a reader as he is a writer, so I throw in a comma here and there, just to be perverse :)
- cracked me up 8)

I hit the news when I'm scraping the barrel bottom for inspiration - I get little enough for my trouble - just things to mouth about - yesterday's biggie was the farmer in Indonesia what got ate by a reticulated python - reticulated, like that word, all those hard chop-chop sounds like it was spoken by a hatchet -

was reading about Charles Whitman this morning - about August 1st, 1966 - been a damn long time since I thought about that piece of American history -

the checkered past -
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

history a passion of mine
like a magic time machine
I could walk the through the centuries as if I was living there in the past
If I taught a history class in high school I would probably get fired in the first week of the semester. For the history U.S.A. for the early twentieth century I would use John Dos Pasos'
trilogy as a textbook. Also compared to Suihitsu in its use of camera eye and newsreels.
We don't need no stinkin state bored of education texts that leave out the best and the worst.
Tried to read it again but got bored somewhere along the middle of it. But I listen to it on audio book— from time to time— kind of a sleep aide. I can sleep fast on it. Much like falling asleep in front of a floor model radio listening to the Creaking Door and The Inter Sanctum. Back in Baltimore in late forties, couple of years after the war.

You know I cultivate boredom
It is how us hipsters stay so cool. :D

beautiful day in may, a day too sweet to waste indoors under the fluorescent lights. gooddam me I got the meta-fiscal blues again. That's what comes of being such patriot as I am. My consumer confidence is high, "Welcome to Walmart, the taxman loves you."™

If I could sit right down and right myself a letter it would have to be a letter of condolence. It would start off like this:

Greetings,
Mnaz got me thinking about those pull my daisy the beatniks were so enthralled with. They are pretty cool.

I think I bored him with it though maybe that is just a conceit of mine. after the comma
I wrote "I'm half crazy"

too literal I guess.

Amber alert keeps going off all day, keeps me on edge, the boogie man is out there just like coyote
Picked up the copy of The Birth of Tragedy and The Genealogy of Morals because you got me thinking about him after your piece on the comic book Ghostrider. Used to be those classic comics I liked as a kid. Today they are graphic novels, and that is what it is. Well anyway you got me thinking about the first time I read him. Pretty yellowed with age and the binding is shot. Done some hard traveling with that book. A million miles I am pretty sure. Reading it now at work. Gooddam cameras everywhere, but my life is an open book.

sorry steve wanted to work something about the feel of that brittle yellow paper from that paperback edition. Say those cheap pulp paper got a lot of acid in them, that's why they get so brittle and yellowed. It had acid in it okay. Like touching blotter.

too tired too work it in tonight get back to it later.

there must be a thread in here somewhere
don't want to blow this for nobody this Zuihitsu, not a good student, I should do more research and learn more about it.

Even so, I think I know what it is
fast talking
fast thinking
can't keep with it, always another thought rising above the horizon before I finished getting the last typed
always one step in back of these words.

Reading bits and pieces, can't turn that reptile brain off, so I try to appease it some, feed it bits and pieces of the news from D.C.

and then I get so trumped up in the political news
I miss the interesting stuff

, something about a mysterious light, couple days ago,
A Mysterious Flash From a Faraway Galaxy
New York Times · 1 day ago
still lucking for "Diablo" haven't found it yet, I know I heard you singing about Diablo

during my lost years
the decade after crazy mike's death
people would tell me "it is not what goes into your mouth, it is the lies that come out that . . ."

Comet? :D

Bill Haley Baltimore 1954? or 55
Baltimore, saw him live, I had a date. I still remember her name first and last
Yes indeed, "I'm going down rockin"

might listen to john prine tongiht
that broken radio in my head is playing "Jesus, The Lost Years"

Weather it is fine
think I read somewhere that maybe the universe is not expanding ever faster
even so
time sure seems to be speeding up
I need an extra season.
Got this app thingy from my HMO
says my actual age is 81
talking to my homeboy who is 85 in real time
tell him I am playing the lotto a couple of days a week in the hope of winning enough to pay my way out of this best of space time worlds.

if life is
suffering
I must be a glutton for punishment

sitting here at the bottom of this text box and wondering if I should scroll back up and read what I wrote
think I wander too much this could have been shorter, even so this is fun. Zuihitsu figure if I keep spelling it one of these days I might spell it correctly.

I missed the picture
laughing lady at the bar
a good laugh?
A real belly laugh?
A laugh from deep down in her

Like the look of that saloon
been a long long time since I been in a bar
I don't get out much, except to work and shop, doctors and stuff like that
wouldn't know how to act

You remember the Roosevelt Hotel? It was near Camden Yards— before they tore it down for the new baseball stadium.
It had a bar in the basement that had live jazz, classical musicians used to come down from the Peabody Institute and sit in. I was in there in 64. I noticed a sign pasted to the mirror behind the bar It said, "Have a Nice TriP". not till years later did I realized what kind of trip they were talking about. But even a square like me could feel the energy and the music.

Nice bar, I wish I was there listening to a woman laugh.

genesis angles, Aram Saroyan

"Error is not blindness, error is cowardice."

Edvard Munch

Never would have survived the seventies without that.

The Z is rollin' now - backbeating - gnome leaping - free wheelin' - cheating - fleeting - from floor to ceiling ring-a-ning - everybody's signature on the ligature flashing smashing with a baptist packaging - figments fragments strong glue sticky with boo Hello who are you anarchists welcome children too WARNING FASCISTS WILL BE DAMAGED ! Jump in the channel swim for your life ! Clamour ! Whispers ! Yawps ! Traction fractions in the dashboard lights ! A total free-fire soul zone afterburners fueled by imagination & daily experience . . .

. . . a quiet moment where hundreds, thousands, of snow geese take to flight . . .

"That which is not formed need not be reformed" ... I read that somewhere - somewhere down the line - rain on the hills, memories of trees - sun trying to shine among clouds -

Not by intent but by discovery - that's zuihitsu. Zuihitsu writers are the one whale species that dives to the bottom of the ocean to hunt the monsters there in the black. To return to the surface well-fed, our blowholes roaring -

Singing our road songs to the sky
life is what happened when you think you are going to ride your bike on a fine spring day
*

"hominem unius libri timeo"

Singing to the generations to come
as we pass through this best of all space time worlds
some people say this best of all possible worlds
I like to narrow it down a while
what with paralell universes where H*thler cuts his ear off
And Vincent Van Gough becomes chanchellor of germany in 1933/

Everything up to here was on a word doc I cut and pasted to from this Z thread.
everything past this is spontaneous real time, in the moment typing

Sorry I don't have the attribution for italics* but put them in later

reminds me of a song called "the pumpkin center barn dance, mama could never understand how Lucifer to lead a man to the pumpkin center barn dance"
oh yes
Nietzsche got my back door
and my front door is the way of compassion I am
safe and secure in the tender indifference of the stars

Saint Jack my patron saint
in the church of the good HTML
Jesus Christ is the messenger
Buddha is my destiny

and I love both kinds of music

billy joe shaver "get thee behind me Satan"
and Digital Ninja "beware the man of one book"

off to day, if ride
it will be a good day.
