It's Not Clear to Me

Post by Doreen Peri » August 19th, 2010, 11:44 pm

Michael Bonanno created a beautiful song with some lyrics I wrote! Thank you, Michael! Remember Michael? He used to write a column here at Studio Eight. Scroll down to the archives. Michael is a talented composer and musician and I've featured several of his songs on the Radio8 show.

You can listen to the song here:

>>It's Not Clear To Me

Lyrics by Doreen Peri
Music by Michael Bonanno

Sometimes it's not clear to me
Why you are near to me
It hasn't anything to do
With trusting you.

No, it's just new to me
The things you do to me
There's no uncertainty
or doubts that you are true.

This heart of mine is
Riddled with its questions.
Add to that my strange perception
Of time .....

Yet still you hold each second
For inspection
In a fragile glass
Imperfect like my rhyme.

There is no way to move the wind
It can change direction on a whim.
Lovers will be lovers 'til the hurricane blows in.

It's never clear to me
How perfect harmony
Can ever claim a lyric
With a melody that's fair.

This heart of mine is
Riddled with its questions.
Did I mention that I loved you
More than air?

Sometimes it's not clear to me
Why you were near to me
I simply couldn't see
Please don't forget.

I was so blind to it
The reason rhyme of it
That it's not clear to me
Yet.

There is no way to move the wind
It can change direction on a whim.
Lovers will be lovers 'til the hurricane blows in.

A slight Beatles feel, don't you think?

Michael's amazing - how cool to hear this piece sung, Doreen.

Judih...I practically fell off my chair when I heard it... hearing my own words put to melodies I never imagined with instruments playing and professional production and Michael's fine vocals! I can't tell you how honored I am.

Yeah, I hear Beatles influence in many of his pieces... definitely!

He's really a fine artist!

It's true. There's no greater form of flattery than having something one does interpreted by another artist.

such fine attention!

Put it on the next radio show, okay?

I will do it!

If and when there is a next radio show... i'll say when instead of if. Sounds more positive. Haven't worked in 3 weeks. Still recovering.. but doing much better... haven't fit in the work for a radio show for a year... sigh... One day... one day... It was a cool project to start... Need a better software solution, more time and an engineer... ;)

Here's hoping your full energy returns after the 'cure' gets cured.
You're in great voice these days.
