mystery of love
(what works for me)
Love...the most misunderstood form of energy. My interpretation of
this power is not any of the standard definitions. It almost defies
comprehention. And it is surely easier to describe what love is not,
than to explain what it is... but here's a good effort.
Like an emotion, it is an individual expression of the self. But by
itself, a form of inner enrichment, seeded within the spirit. It is
the fundamental blueprint engraved in all things. The best realistic
definition that I can accept is simply, the life force. Not just that
of humans, or of nature, but of every substance or partical or thing
that exists. It is... what god is. And equally, it is what we are.
It cannot be lost, or found. It cannot be created, or destroyed. And
most importantly, it cannot be given, or recieved. It is integrated
within the human being, and is inseparable. In the human body, it is
felt throughout our nervous system... (the actual feeling of it). So, it
combines our physiology and our spirituality. And it is the greatest
connection between the human, the spirit, and the creator.
Your supply of love cannot be added to, or subtracted from. And it is
yours, alone. It can only be expanded, or contracted. Happiness is...
exactly the same, as you cannot be given happiness. And equally so,
your happiness cannot be taken away. It is only up to you, in choosing
how much you express it, or how much you repress it.
Love is not possessive, but possessed. All that we can do with this
possession, is express it, and feel it, as expressed through others.
In a relationship, the level of love's expression constantly varies.
And that one relies on recieving love from the other, is the danger,
as it cannot happen. The thought of it is absolutely false and unreal.
A relationship of love should be something like the following...
A side by side trek, as individuals, toward the same goal. Not either one
posssessing the other, nor the wanting to. Yet, with common mind in
seeking, and in common respect, suppporting one another as is needed,
as the journey to that common goal progresses... sharing in heart, soul,
mind and body, their expressions of love with one another. And that's it.
Commitment... is a whole other story, and equally mysterious.

Re: mystery of love
I am sure it is possible for some...
yet these were not the cards that
I was dealt. But just knowing it is
enough to let me carry on.

Re: mystery of love
Boy I love to eat
I love them Baltimore Colts and Johnny Unitas
I love to beat my feets in the Mississippi mud
I love poetry art music saiboats motorcycles kites, cats and dogs
I love life
I love the mystery
Sometimes I guess I get carried away with the word love.
But the spookiest for me
is
G d is love.
if not for Joel and his poetry I would be burning my Bible
I love my job
I love smoking dope in the morning, now that I am retired after trucking a couple of million miles and don't have to worry about taking a whiz quiz if I seem too happpy to management.
sorry about the ramble
Love is a mystery
love is a cliche
some love to hate
love rancor
love pain
love is red red hearts
on valentines day
"only love can brake your heart"
not in the cards for me either
but I always like that rita coolidge song who is to bless and who to blame
I am playing the hand i was dealt too
amor fati
I am not complaining about my chances
love is the only game in town for me.

Re: mystery of love
god is love... I remember that bumper sticker...
WARNING: I brake for hallucination... (first runner up)
If you were a god, how would you create your universe?
How would you keep in touch with your creation?
What would the essence of your power consist of?
What intension would make it worth doing it at all?
How would you, as god, share with your creation?
For what purpose would you create anything for?
Why? For whom?
Is love just a human word, a human feeling or a human
understanding, with only a human meaning?
Freedom of will... still needs a starting point, a beginning,
or an original intention.
Love is god's one and only law...
But I don't believe in a god... as some guy who peeps in
on things now and again. I don't believe in a god that
would create a lake of fire to torment... (a part of itself)...
it would serve no purpose.
Anyway, I've said too much already.
Love is the ultimate... anything.
thanks for the positive words

Re: mystery of love
back when my sexuality commanded the ship
i fell in love
like a land mine
people always talked about "falling in love"
and i always felt like i fell in...
ask a couple
what is love
and they look like they have been on nitrates, and anti depressants
gurgling about love
in a sad mental institutional kind of way
drooling and smiling
i guess they are happy
i do not look much better when i am in love

Re: mystery of love
I thought I fell in love many times, but it was just lust.
Just can't practice what I preach, I guess. An odd thing...
I have never cheated on any of my lovers, and I don't even
have an explanation for that, it is what it is.
