Dear Diary:
Today, President Truman dropped another bomb on Japan. Maybe they didn't hear the first one. My pastor said it was horrible, but God is still in control, and he loves me and has a plan, so how bad could it be? Then I went to the store, but they were sold out today because of the war effort, so I'll try tomorrow. At least we're finally winning.

Yeah, 'hell' is a pretty apt description.
And Truman signed the U.N. charter that day, as well-- what a full day for the President....
Dropping one atomic bomb on a city of non-combatants is horrific enough.... but a second bomb? Quite a mindfuck. I guess I just never thought about it before. That was probably the better approach.
