I used to like to be trucking on Christmas Day, for some reason the day seemed more sacred when I was alone in the sweet anonymity and solitude of the road. Such a peaceful quiet day, no chatter on the CB, best truckstops were always open on Christmas free dinner for guys like me, who always volunteered to get that last minute load that had to be in California the next day. love the road and miss it, miss her poetry even though I just grab bits of it that I can relate too, and pass over the bits I can't possibly understand because I am big stupid wom-bless ape, And I am cool with that. Women make me feel like a fortunate son.

I got to feeling really good today
I decided I could stand to watch some news for a change

dreary day in the republic of paradise
with a cup of pecan coffee and a slab of crusty rye bread smeared with chicken smaltz

for most this is sleep
for some this is rocket brain
and so here i am, happy
to have a place to go. S8
and oddly thinking about my ancient insomnia
back in the day before electronica
when all i could do was pace
and all of my dreams were about dreaming
and all my anxiety had muscles
and how i began to hallucinate without drugs
in the middle of the day
and the colors became so beautiful,
one day after a waking binge
i looked up at the golden sky
and thought to myself oh i get it
this is the way it looks right before you die
and the golden years took on a new meaning
but those days passed, and my sleeping got better
and now it's 75% better than my thirties
and now I have all these amazing distractions
so.... ladies and germs....this...is the stone cold
awake jam....and that's ok....sleep is overrated
and at my age I suppose I've slept 20 years or more
who was it that said, I'll sleep when i die ?

and something about a storage locker

when I moved,
downsized I'm sure
I openly and often mourned
the loss of my workshop
that was five years ago
and my birthday present from my 3 kids was
a fixed up space in my daughter's basement
where I can play
with wood ..........do art projects
wahooo. can't wait to stock it
and perfect timing in that
my dad left his old house
and wants me to have some of his shop stuff
serendipity !...I even have my own Key !
