Has it been that long since poetry?

To dream beneath
the chill of night,
outside inevitable.

if so, it seems a timely return.

depends
how your looking
at the map
compasses point north
yet the worlds round
of course is a horse
in all its varieties
nonsensical acrobats
rodeo clowns
people walking in the
bar door full of nervous laughter
approach shots on the tv screen
winning colors
as if it was a horse race
orange
red as tomato juice
with a shot of vodka
all the many varieties
veggies
colors
jams
what it's all about 8)

silence, Saturday morn 5:02 am.
a hint of hope on the horizon
peace is in the air
crossing fingers was never the solution
nor was letting the cat out of the bag
turning it around is the 1st step amidst
the mornings silent drone, hmmmmmmm.......

jam that will get you
out of a groove
good groove bad groove
who got time enough for a groove

had not been for dis jamming with you all
that I am only half mad
these days

I been working at the air port out on the run way
even with the headphones I can still hear the jets roar
no lies all lies
said the mad girl

I ain't been working at the air port
I am the man behind the curtain
in booth inside a super galactic big box department store
call it OZMART
but just as noisy as them jets at the airport
it just seems when I am trying to concentrate on what I see on the computer screen while my wokeness tries to pay attention to the person in front of me
anyway a lot of noise
been listening to Dharma Bums on audio
chases the sounds away like a shot of single malt
ain't had a drink in months but from time to time
got a empty miniature of Jim Beam Apple on my desk since last year

they say i was a rebel till i reached the age of five it was then that i got caught up in the struggle to survive*

i was so much younger than
come home from the struggle for the legal tender
hit the hay around ten pm
get up at five
still frazzled from the cacophony n
need something to chill on while I eat my oat meal
so I turn the tv on with the sound off looking for visuals
found a golf tournament to watch,
perfect
a passing thought of Jack Coburn
what a way to make a living, a good life

earn my bread not so much by the sweat of my brow as by the amount of psychic pain i can endure

looking for a gig that is pain free
cause hell is other people
and I need solitude
took a DOT physical toying with the idea of going over the road again
but my night vision almost gone
cataracts I guess a still small voice tells me my trucking days are through
I used to love driving at night
going through those deserts out west
never saw so many stars

Oh well I had my time thinking about
Jack up on starvation ridge
I want to be him
wish he had stayed up there

heard it said the world revolves around the hand that writes
or maybe types
sound of these keys clicking are the sounds of quietude for me

write because I leave myself behind in here
thank god for this oasis on the net

my eyes are weary of reading the writing on the wall
i need art to doctor them

crazy mike always told me this is heaven or hell
my choice
yes i am old but
I still got some good times left
maybe even time enough for love

i been thinking about Clay's comment about karma, "it will give you two dines and a nickle for a quarter every time." Something like that have to look it up
but even so life's been good to me

am I scared of dying
or just a greedy child wanting more life

waiting on a project to start
in tysons corners of all places
carry me back to old virginny lol....
spent the most confusing 17 years
of my life there 1979-96 (married confusion)
