how many nouns can fit

just wrote a long poem
and backspaced it into oblivion
the message was too dark, and
i didn't want to go down that pipe,
that flow to the sewer where rats
grow bigger than breadboxes , does
anyone even remember breadboxes ?

we had a breadbox, shiny metal
like an Airstream camper, when the lid
folded down it was covered in maple
so you could cut your bread....never
understood why some people said, "that
was the best thing since sliced bread"
was that really such an innovation, cuz

I kinda liked slicing my bread with my
special serrated knife...I miss my breadbox

full service was cool
a man in coveralls asking
want me to check your oil,
top off your coolant, how
are those tires, now there is
no one there, pulled in station
recently sold after being in the same
family for 80 years, a ghost town
they turn on the pumps, then go to breakfast
then go to lunch, then go to dinner
this place was bustling, two mechanics
Mike the owner greeting you,
catching up on families, I knew him so long
he never made me put quarters
in the air machine on the corner, nah
he let me drive up close to the bays
use the air hose from inside, and now
nothingness....no humans....swipe
that credit card, be on your way
swipe my community while you're at it
won't be long androids will be checkin' out
my groceries, selling me a ticket to the movies
providing security at rock concerts
with super human strength, and the accidental
deaths will be known as collateral damage

wire cats meow
with new purpose
utility into art
the mind's eye sees
the possibilities beyond
intended purposes
the heart beats swiftly
as ideas twist metal
into animation, a thin
round wire gets new
dimensions, here kitty

congrats to da cat

nice work if you can get it 8)
I got a secrete
What's My Line?

hardly know the intent of my intention
that's why I got to jam
go tell it on the mountain
and hear the echoes of the next intention revealed
season for epiphanies remembered and forgotten

remember playing the doors break on through over and over when I lived in an appartment on N Charles near the JHU campus (1972)
the door is open
nothing to break
just got to hop on board
ride Ferlinghetti's choo choo

never get my head around the money for art concept
a work of art is work
so I am not saying you did not work for it
it is like money for nothing
when you can make a buck from something you love to do, or so my rose of agudas achiem usta tell me'
now that the old girls gone before me
sometimes when I need religion
I think about her 8) like
a picture of a field of dandelions
windows open to last cold front to pass through this part of Texas
in the forties tonight
three windows open
light breeze
ate a herbal brownie
rode ten miles
sleep the sleep of the just
I
should say I was on the road
on a bicycle with the hood of a Peterbilt mounted to the front like a fake Rolls Royce grill mounted on a Volkswagen™.

it is the feel
vibrating up from the tires to the frame to the seat to my tail bone
that's the thrill
that's the thrill of the perpetual jam
feel the keys vibrate to electric hum of the juice flowing through the web
in an open text box
and let GO
how sweet it is

at the Johns Hopkins spring festival
seems like yesterday
quit rod bustin in the rain that Monday
little did I know I would be working
45 years at it.....ugh!!!
jammin
it's free and unhindered
it's not Zuihitsu mind ya
but close, kinda of a spew of guts 8)
how longs this thing been going on?
close to 300 pages......
Nola close to 10 years now
I been gone from B'more over 10 too.....wow!
CJ's gone nearly 8
and I'm still surviving in the rod patch at 64
I guess I show and sell the wire to share it
with good folks that have a smile on their
face when they get one.....it's a way of making
art out of what I do too, there's really little money
in it, that's a fact, yeah I sold hundreds now I guess
but in the long haul 40 plus years it's a drop in bucket
I wish u had one ST ......their going for peanuts these daze
I really just enjoy sharing em in my old age
thought id get a laff in before I submit on a rainy day
when I finally get to play wireman 8)

it was a wired man I was destined to be,
it was for a time a beautiful oasis in Warrenton, Va.

I was living the dream, but my marriage
fell apart ugh! in '97 I went to Baltimore
got an old firehouse and became wireman :)
