she did her thing
expecting
never reaching it
to give
to get
never adds up
in a common scheme
but in the overarching
it more than makes up for itself
"american dreams" are simple
look to the "stars"
to make something truly "happen"
you first must find it in yourself
you are only what you have allowed
and others shall follow
the rhythym is endemic
beauty begets

could just be the last 2 lines...but it is about getting there...let us all know that, not that it is god, but it is life, it can only happen upon the myriad, upon it, all is based, love "it", while you can...seperation is fleeting if non existent...the mind is what you make of it...others ability to intrude makes it that much more powerful, it is in "our" hands, happiness isnt given its made up of yourself, fight with all you have, for you must sleep with yourself, and our children must wake up with it

Lord i remember talking about "it", this ghostly apparition that
hinged the doors of time shared with "loved" ones, old stepping stones
i used to scrape coke off mirrors and flood the apartment with lights
to scour the carpet to keep the night going, my teeth grinding

That in sickness my eyes could see clearly, immature i know, but still battle with that one

so you have figured it out
you know what it is i am talking about
its definitely not drugs
lay the blame all that you will
with or without
the problems remain the same
the problems remain the same
the problems remain the same
the problem remains the same
be it sober or not
the problem remains the same
the problems remain the same
be it wiccan or zorostrian
the problem remains the same
and we find ways to hide from "it"
know me before castigating
clearly you havent learned that
with your worn ass teeth
one man's experience means nothing
to another's

but i do know what you are talking about
and many are lost within themself

See my topic "What does friendship mean to you?" in my standing column, "Life in the Horse Lane" In my view, you are trying to get past the "it" and connect with the "you" or "thou" in someone.

Self-absorption gets in the way of friendship, sometimes,
and you still have to get past yourself to see the worth in others.
"To your own self be true." Self-improvement is a good thing...
as the saying goes. Then branch out and reach out to others.
Problems still remain, but good company many times helps alleviate
the pain. Poetry is a great outlet for expressing oneself.

I understand IT, just no longer leave it nameless and mystery,
just speaking of youth and drugged understanding when all the webs would stop and for a short second make a solid line, a bridge directly across the circle and it all made sense until we woke up again, woke up without, woke up with us and that same ache, that same vacancy
One man's experience means nothing to another is very selfish and shortsighted, listening, actually taking advice, the whole "you'd don't have to go through it to understand it" or see the falsehood in the broken toed steps of our peers I find very valuable, very hard to swallow and adhere to, but very valuable.
Advice is the hardest gift i've been given, the most refused, and the most regretted not taking
Them grains of salt built mountains, they add up, and small whispers become mudslides and the growing roar and thunder of it's coming, that premonition, trepidation, scares the shit out of me
