brunch sunday

eggs over easy
bacon, taters
jammin on the
ipad
talkin america
wakin from a
6 day work week
jammin @ the bar
sun shining
cool day of
freedom!!!

brunch for some
dinner for others
between espresso and beansprouts
poems arrive, decorate my mind, swish out the back door

others' happiness, melancholy
blur in the doorframe

on the backslide
of brunch
buffalo wings time

my lodge woman comes home today
with bags of groceries
in the back of the jeep
it's the winter comin on that gets everybody to eating
i unload the groceries
but the gate on the jeep won't close
getting dark and cold
and i realize i gotta take the gate panel off
to get at the latch
and then screw around with that
maybe even talk nice to it
in hopes it will work
but ... tomorrow is soon enough for that
because now i got a lodge full of groceries
and i'm hungry
so i strap the gate down with ties
and tell the Babydoll you're gonna feel
a draft on your way into work
i feel a bit bad about that
but now lets eat

way past brunch
back home
six-fifteen
floyd on now
im always mad
breathe
laughs
insane laughs
up/down
and so it goes

heater trying to raise
the temp in here two degrees
amazing how much it takes
to cover so little
driveway completely buried in leaves

nola closed for brunch
jojo's time
means football too
bengals vs colts in 20 mins
coffee n screwdriver
omlete comin
hopin....trollin for ajam
hard to come
even when sanctioned....
