Time has a Way

Post by WIREMAN » October 23rd, 2005, 11:02 am

Working things out,
steady flow of river
carving out a canyon,

immense room to breathe,
blue skies overhead &
a gaggle of geese
flies by,

journey thru life, constantly
yearning, perhaps the lesson
is that confronting "every"
situation is better off left
alone.

oh once in a blue moon
it shines down into the abyss
the canyon crevasse
below the high desert
where oak trees whisper
along the canyon stream
a slow eternal flow forever
it goes onward whispering sighs
and enjoying the ride

time has a way
and a day off of work
is a day on
time has a way
of slipping away
AM is slow
being your own boss
it ain't so bad
but how do you give yourself a day off
when Time is money
and you are living the american dream
one way or another
a wage slave
only you sign your own pay check
you might see me this morning
with an illegal smile
cause you are probably hard at work today
Friday in the subjective time consciousness of a trucker, means next to nothing. No calender, just tomorrow and a thousand miles to saturday. First day of the week, traffic is lighter, that's about it for now.

I been looking at close ups of a butterfly wings
nothing to do with that only thinking of red blue green
but here it is

thinking about butterflies, that elusive butterfly effect
devil drum dread makes me so happy
the sound of the abomination
makes me want to rock and roll
dance my blues away
to a african beat

good lunch, great salad, bake potato and ""I heard the voice of a porkchop say come unto me and rest."

Rosa Parks put her head on her saviors breast. A twenty six year old Baptist minister heard of her stand. Trying to keep the faith. Crazy Mike burried in that cemetary with the cast iron arch. Words in german arbeit one of the a word for circle too. But When I first saw it I freaked. I thought of the death camps and the "Work makes freedom.
"I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say," an oft-cited hymn in the African-American lining-out tradition. The humor in the tune results from a poetic manipulation--the personification of the porkchop. One can read between the lines, however, to see that Jackson's witty distortion of the hymn communicates a sentiment that is a recurring theme in blues poetry of the 1920s and '30s--the generalized feeling among many blacks that traditional religion had failed to meet their social and material needs. In Jackson's tune, then, it is a porkchop--not Jesus--that gives satisfaction

praise the porkchop
more than a hill
not for thrills cause there ain't no blueberries
just desolation blues and sweet savory sighs
as salivating drooling carries away the moment
in anticipation of that first bite. oink oink

Saxophone Sunday
Thinking of Dr Sax
Woody Allen
Sex and Death
Listening to Dylan/Hendrix Mode
All along the watch towers

Gospel music got many a slave his freedom, to endure, take the best leave the rest.
As old kurt would say, "Listen to the music."
Fuk the theology
On a somewhat related note: I think it would be a good idea to take away tax exempt status for any church whose pastor makes two million dollars a year.

Just a blue collar working class guy with a taste for trashy cowboy songs. Chorus:
(G)I've been to Georgia on a (C) fast train honey
(G) I wudn't born no yesterday (D7)
(G) Got a good Christian raisin' and an (C) eighth grade education
(G) Ain't no need in y'all a (D7) treatin' me this way

Verse 3:
And now sweet Caroline , i guess i'll ever find
Another woman put together like you all
With your wiggle and your walkin',and your big city talkin'
Your brand new shiny Plymouth rag-top car

Billy Joe Shaver

Heard a bit about Adolph Sax and the horn he invented. The "Devils Horn" ripping through my radio in 1952, almost all those early rock and roll songs derived from black spirituals. A sea change in the early fifties when black artists made main stream radio. My generation, kind of lonely here being the oldest one. I love the blues, they say the black man did not give the blues to whitemen, it was white men who gave them to blacks.
I love spirituals, makes me dream of a time when I will wake no more.
