You really probably don't want to know what memory that brings to mind.
Eastern and Caroline
late forties there were sometimes fifteen or twenty horse and wagons backed up to the junk yard next door. For an eight year old boy they were like pirate treasure ships.hoof beats outside
then there was Bohagers up on Central Avenue where they unload scrap paper, miillions of comic books with the covers torn off.

Maybe the last out house in Baltimore. Sitting out there with a flash light and free comic books and the
dark scent of pulsating life
When my grandparents finally got indoor plumbing my grandmother planted a fig tree where the out house used to sit. The last time I was in B'more was twenty years ago. The house was gone, the junk yard had swallowed it up, the fig tree was still there. Bright shinning fig tree.read a comic book
when life was new and there were so many bright shinning figs on every branch of that tree of life.
and Jesus said to the fig tree....
and the fig tree said to Jesus
go sh*t in your hat.
