christmas tree (a visual poem)

~+ o! yes! +~
~ it's all finished! ~

U U U U U U U U U U U U
~ our old artificial tree ~
~ was decorated this morning ~
~ the once a year spectacle for all ~
~ a christmas tree full dressed for giving
~
o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o
~ cleverly adorned in strings of colored lights ~
(*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) (*)
~ three strings of colored beads circling around ~
~ and between all that twelve hanging ornaments ~
~ of two different shapes and of two different colors ~
(-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-) (-)
~ and at the base a clean white sheet surrounds the tree ~
~ as if a fresh snowfall had silently fallen without any warning ~
~ the night before while sleeping soundly warmly wrapped in dreams
