the light i created from below never casts
the same shadow twice
and the motion of my breath is myself, me,
present
inside the space of this moment
the same river thrice

my pulse, a nameless birdspurring the body's
need to be taken
beyond itself and shaking from a million
dreams deeper in the cry and still the same

i have seen my breath cloud the mirror of
time as words walk out from ashes each
syllable the work of desire
in the silence of feathers and falling
the you and the you and the you
an echo born from the shuddering of my
skin

the very sky collapsing as eternityf lies in the
shadow of my own breath
