Nice

I want my niceness
to precede me into the room
wait patiently in the corner
until I need her again

it's okay if you love
my tenacity, but
I really want to be known
for my niceness

I like this. It makes me nod my head in agreement.

I like first and foremost to be liked and thought of as nice.

But therein lies the battle of inner wills...

for I often do not feel nice but would rather

tear off a head, or even...dare I say it...spit in an eye!

but only for a moment, then it passes and my niceness shinnies through.

I think that truth should sometimes win over niceness...or not!

But I like to be liked...so therein lies the rub!

"nice" is such a silly word, isn't it? and isn't it funny how, with some people, you are always too nice and yet, never nice enough. i know this is happening when i feel a scream linger behind my smile.
