Long Night

it can be a long night
when you're waiting
for inspiration
hours feel like vampire eternity

feels like forever
when you catch yourself
tabulating breath
a millionaire loser, endless

when the rigid darkness
is jet black and tarred
and penetration of any kind
is out of the question

it can be a long night
when you document
the perceptible growth
of a deviant wild hair

hard morning
bleary eyed
this screen hurting my eyes
but glad I read your poem
