But why would Love have troubled waters? No—
I want to answer no and trust that Love
has never caused the troubled loves that flow,
flash, flood in foolishnesses of
emotive happenstances, lust mistakes.
But Love has troubled waters. And we know
beyond a reasonable doubt the stakes
of judgment troubled loves will drive to throw
their carnival and tabernacle tents
to heights of ballyhoo (as loves will do).
If Love has troubled waters, it presents
perhaps the proof that Love is human too,
that trouble’s just the water we possess
to swallow down the pill that Love is. Yes.
