i'm goin to new york city
with a poem in the
new yorker, in hopes
my daughter will see me
and know i know she is there
and more, her large nyc family
I need to put it into a pdf photo format
to submit it to the new yorker. I love my
daughter and I want her to know that I
am going to find her and know her, maybe
anyday now, ya never know, she will see my
poem and old drawing from the rooftop of
the providence hotel on the bowery.
help?

I don't know jim, not much help I can give, but if it were my poem I would keep on submitting and resubmitting it. I hope she reads it. I love that drawing, it looks so right for the New Yorker.
it was a despairing time
nearing XMAS in '81
i would go atop the hotel
it had a roofway up from the 4th floor
i like altitude i feel safe and grounded
i saved that little sketch wowow
it fit my intent so magically
better than the little bird
on the broken road
a good name for a book
jammin with you.

I hope your dreams come true. Good luck with your search. My daughter looked for her father for 30 something years, and finally found him. It was nice for both of them. Their relationship is loose, but caring. I am happy for her. And will keep my fingers crossed for you.
