The only thing I could say is that they were treating a world famous American poet, writer and social critic. Not unlike H.L. Mencken and Henry Miller.
I suppose that sounds like hubris maybe a minor qualification but I have been thinking a lot about what it is to be an American lately. It seems like politicians want to come up with their own meanings for what it is.

Yep. I wanted to use Facebook for www.mistertroll.com, but nobody could see it who didn't have an account. So it still redirects to that ghost town, Myspace.

Visited with him tonight.

He's doing much better, has been able to eat some solid food, is getting a little stronger. He goes in again Wednesday for more follow-up, and expects to have to undergo radiation therapy. They took the lymph nodes in the general area of the cancer as well as the larynx. He mentioned being aware that his flute-playing days are over, for sure.

He has a high level of acceptance and a realistic hopefulness in regards to the future. I don't think he's going to allow all this to slow him down for very long. He is actively pursuing options for getting his eyes fixed, as well.

good news when he can deal with his current realities despite their pitfalls. our times for change sometimes deals us curious hands that demand all new paths to continue onwards.
