not mine, the point is we all harbor
the same fugitive, we aid and abet prejudice
like a striped con on the lam dragging
a cannonball of self through the thicket
of his reality, looking in the middle of nowhere
for a decent mattress and something, someone
to bite, and there is plenty of room in the inn of ego
to be unhappy for a lifetime, but thankfully
my muse pushes me to write down my thoughts,
make drawings and doodles that record divine intervention
from every source willing to send me a signal, she does this
for me in the hope, like any good mother wishes,
I will turn out alright.
