Heaven

[Kailashana]

I met a poet
to whom I introduced myself,
nothing more was said.

But walls and stones must tell their stories
in hieroglyphics of invention,
determined to find the source of light,
the mechanics of art like heaven
on my mind.

I walk about this poem, a camel untethered
but threaded
to the single eye.
