Everybody has to decide what dope they take
It may be morphine or it may be chasing the dragon
or upscale cocaine. Or it may be psuedoephridine
or religion or radical politics or caffeine

Everybody has to decide on their own habit
Like AA or Scientology or Pro Football
hooked on the job or the mistress
my cigarettes are a sacrament
and I'm a stoned addict for love.

Everyone has to choose his poison
you can OD on everything from jogging to charity work
not to mention the side effects
what literature and music might result
