trees removed/windows boarded
historical bricks carted away
pegs and flags marking off
rectangles
to house eventually
out of the thin air
the same shops, patriotic restaurants
that infest a mile away
they will weed here
bring pungent odors, plastic, lint
the great dumpsters like tanks
will be moved into place
and the Third Army of yellow jackets,
the cups, wrappers
will spill
the economic feces
of fast buck dreams
