a snake in a sunbeam.
Nice phrasing and imagery here!

Getting chilly here, too. I'm sooooo NOT a winter person. But I'll make it through. I'll write or paint my way through.

I also liked how you personified winter and gave him a "cold personality."

I'm from the Midwest. We are a bit past our autumn peak but many of the trees are still alive and spewing their colors. They do "sigh"…and now I know I'm not crazy. Other folks hear it too.

:( our fall here is almost over. It saddens me to see it go. At least dreams will bring it back to life. Times will reveal the life that's renewed; all seasons they must come and they must go always leaving a memoir in our hearts and souls.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.
